Hedda Gabler is Henrik Ibsen's 1890 masterwork about a woman locked in a marriage and bound by a restrictive society. The play premiered in Munich Germany in 1891 and has since become one of the world's great classic works of realism, with the lead role Hedda one of drama's great female portraits.
