Interview with set and mask designer Rumi Matsui by Ted Sod for the Education department, conducted in 2004 with the aid of a translator.  Interview features Matsui discussing what she wanted to create with the set, incorporating water to represent Japan as an island, the use of screens, designing masks and inspiration of Japanese paintings from 1853, collaborating with the other designers, working with director Amon Miyamoto, the creative process, American assimilation in Japan, and working on this production in America.
